Show us your winter

Timing is everything in the weather biz, and we lucked out announcing our winter photo contest on the day after an unusual -- and vigorous -- snowfall.

So now we have a snow photograph for almost every flake that fell -- not that there's anything wrong with that.

But there's still time to send us other photographic representations of winter in Southern Nevada. Perhaps something that puts us in perspective with what is going on elsewhere in the country at this time of year.

You be the judge -- and then we will be. The shot we like the best will win $100. The deadline for entry is 5 p.m. Tuesday.

If you're e-mailing your photos, they should be 200 dpi and 5 inches wide or larger. We'll also accept good quality prints, but we won't return them. Include a caption explaining the content of the photo and where and when it was taken.

E-mail your photos to spadgett@reviewjournal.com with "Winter Photo" in the subject line. Or mail them to Winter Photos, Features Department, Las Vegas Review-Journal, P.O. Box 70, Las Vegas, NV 89125. Or drop them by the R-J at 1111 W. Bonanza Road. Include your name, age, address and a daytime phone number in case we need more information.

We'll share the photos that best represent winter in Southern Nevada in an upcoming Living section and online.
