Sign-ups being taken for Spring Break Camp

The city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services is accepting registration for its Spring Break Camp set for 7 a.m.-6 p.m. March 17-21. The camp will feature arts and crafts, sports, games and other activities. The registration fees are $65 for the first child and $60 for each additional child from the same household. The drop-in fee for one day is $20 if space is available.

The camp will be offered at the following locations: Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road (229-2482); Brinley Community School, 6150 Smoke Ranch Road (229-2642); Charleston Heights Community School, 6438 Celeste Ave. (229-4440); Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road (229-1607); Johnson Community School, 340 Villa Monterey (229-6175); Lied Community School, 5340 W. Tropical Parkway (229-5072); Molasky Community School, 7801 W. Gilmore Ave. (229-5345); Rafael Rivera Community Center, 2900 E. Stewart Ave. (229-4600); and Robison Community School, 4794 Harris Ave. (229-2542).

Ages accepted at each location vary from 4 to 15. Call the centers for more information.

* The Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition for ages 7 to 14 will take place March 1 at Doc Romeo Park, 7400 Peak Drive. For more information and to register, call the Charleston Heights Community School at 229-4440.

* Twelve young men from the Las Vegas Area Council of the Boys Scouts of America have recently become Eagle Scouts:

D. Coulson Huntington, 18, is the son of Mary and Richard Huntington. He is a member of Troop No. 125.
