Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

■ The United Football League cancels the final two games of its season and goes right on to the championship game. You know how coaches say that every game matters? Never mind.

■ Downtown Las Vegas adopts a motto: "Every city has a soul." Apparently, Detroit already had dibs on "Not as dangerous as you think."

■ After a two-year hiatus, Lonnie Hammargren will resume Nevada Day tours of his memorabilia-packed home. Which, by the way, could kick the Smithsonian's butt any old day.

‘We’re taking this journey together’: Henderson synagogue officially introduces new senior rabbi
