Water Cooler

Here are a few things in news and pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ A video catches Sen. Harry Reid lifting a pen President Barack Obama used to sign documents on Inauguration Day. Republicans scurry to their dictionaries to look up "metaphor."

■ Funky technology inexplicably sends people with lost cellphones to a North Las Vegas man's home. Yes, he can hear you, now go away.

■ Brothers John and Jim Harbaugh will face off when the teams they coach - the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, respectively - play in Super Bowl XLVII. Winning brother gets to give the losing brother a noogie.

■ A scientist names a species of spider found in Joshua Tree National Park after U2 frontman Bono u25B6. If the spiders aren't wearing sunglasses and leather jackets, this will just be disappointing.
