Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we we’ve been talking about lately.

■ Actors who were dressed up as Darth Vader and Zorro on the sidewalk in front of The Venetian file suit, alleging that hotel security and Las Vegas police illegally detained them. The suit has been assigned to a three-judge panel made up of Judge Dredd, Judge Parker and Judge Roy Snyder from “The Simpsons.”

■ Sixteen-year-old Abby Sunderland’s trip around the world is cut short when her sailboat is damaged during a storm. Just like when our trip to the Pink Floyd concert when were 16 was cut short when we got that flat tire. Or maybe not ...

■ Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson u25B6, tells a London newspaper that his wife could have saved Michael if she had been a more attentive mother. Yeah, because Mom’s the deficient parental link in the Jackson family saga.
