Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ A 34-minute Super Bowl power blackout sends social media types wondering who’s responsible. “Johnny” from the movie “Airplane” thanks you all for one more moment of pop culture fame.

■ Tuesday was “Safer Internet Day.” So let’s click on this “Happy Safer Internet Day” e-card and ... damn.

■ Weather-forecasting groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring. Obviously just another lackey of the global warming conspiracy.

■ Stewie u25B6, the Reno-based record holder for world’s longest cat (48.5 inches), dies. Not buying it, because what cat would ever lie still long enough for a measurement?
