Water Cooler: A few funnies

Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that caught our eye recently.

■ The final presidential debate of the 2012 campaign is history, but the memes live on. This year's most popular Christmas gifts: "Battleship" board games, binders of women and bunches of malarkey (a few sprigs of which will make any soup or stew special).

■ The Sunlight Foundation says Las Vegas TV viewers two weeks ago were exposed to more political commercials than any other market in the country. Now, wait, Dennis Quaid is running for sheriff, right? It's all so confusing.

■ Continuing her inexplicable fondness for using the word, conservative pundit Ann Coulter last week calls President Barack Obama a "retard." When Coulter finally has her inevitable dance with karma, the music ain't gonna be pretty.
