Water Cooler: Phil punked, model prom date, NASCAR drama

Here are a few things in pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ The Nevada Supreme Court unveils an app for iPhone and iPad. Can’t wait to play “Angry Justices.”

■ An Ohio prosecutor files, then drops, a tongue-in-cheek indictment against Punxsutawney Phil over the animal’s incorrect prediction of an early spring. The case would have been heard by a three-judge panel consisting of Winnie the Pooh, Mr. Toad and The Keebler Elf.

■ A high school student asks Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover model Kate Upton ■ to his senior prom. Inspired, his little sister asks Highlights for Children’s Gallant to her play date.

■ Spanish language TV network Univision will premiere a NASCAR-themed telenovela. “Asfalto caliente: La vida y amores de Kurt Busch.”
