Water Cooler: Pop culture fun

Here are a few things in pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ The Navy names a vessel the USNS Carson City. When Las Vegas’ turn comes around, could we have whatever the Navy’s equivalent of the Love Boat is?

■ Justin Bieber ■ visits the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and says he hopes Anne would’ve been a “belieber.” Yeah, that’s exactly the takeaway when one visits the Anne Frank House.

■ The actor who voiced Charlie Brown in the early “Peanuts” TV specials pleads guilty to stalking charges. Here’s betting that whenever the judge speaks, all he hears is a trombone squawking.

■ This past weekend, former University of Nevada, Las Vegas golfer Adam Scott becomes the first Australian to win the Masters tournament. Congrats, mate! (Like the poor guy hasn’t heard that line a thousand times already.)
