Water Cooler: The Quad, wild burros, cat on a plane

Here are a few things in news, entertainment, sports and pop culture that caught our eye last week.

■ A man is sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to running a Ponzi scheme that involved the supposed licensing of rock 'n' roll songs. He fought the law and the law won.

■ The Bureau of Land Management schedules an open adoption for wild burros. But you're probably going to have to come up with something a bit more convincing for the spouse than, "It followed me home. Can I keep it?"

■ Caesars Entertainment Corp. announces that it will rename the Imperial Palace The Quad Resort. Well, now they're just plucking random words out of the dictionary.

■ An Ohio woman's cat survives a 10-hour airplane trip to Orlando, Fla., after stowing away in a suitcase. The cat was fine except for having traded in life No. 4 somewhere over Winston-Salem.
