Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we've been talking about lately.

n Cirque du Soleil premieres "Viva Elvis" at Aria at CityCenter. Because who better to examine Elvis' intimate connection to the American psyche than circus performers from Montreal?

n Russian figure skater Evgeni Plushenko u25B6, upset that he lost the Olympic gold medal to American Evan Lysacek, claims on his Web site to have won a "platinum" medal in Vancouver. Russia's top-secret alchemy program apparently is progressing nicely.

n The season finale of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" becomes the E! network's most-watched show ever. Like being "the smartest Stooge."
