Faith Lutheran robotics team wins at world championship

Ten students from Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School, 2015 S. Hualapai Way, represented Nevada April 15-18 in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Ky. Students competed against some of the best teams from around the world in the VEX Skyrise Challenge, with each team winning at least two of its matches. It was the second year Faith Lutheran has participated in the program. In March, under the guidance of computer science and STEM teacher Daniel Kobler, Faith Lutheran took the state championship, winning all four slots to move on to the world championships. Teams F and K earned the Tournament of Champions Award, Team C received the Excellence Award, and Team D received the Think Award for the team with the most impressive and effective autonomous programming. Team C was Zach Miller and Micah Oka; Team D was Michael Fiscus, Kylar Sommers, Austin Choi and Ryan Warner; Team F was AJ Johnson; and Team K was Trenton May, Eric Anderson and Parker Mulick.
