30 face DUI charges after St. Patrick’s Day checkpoint
Metro’s St. Patrick’s Day sobriety checkpoint ended with 30 drivers facing DUI charges.
More than 2,000 cars passed through the checkpoint on Paradise Road just north of Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas police said Wednesday in a news release.
In efforts to increase safety on the roads, 27 police personnel were assigned to the checkpoint, where they tested 88 drivers for drug and alcohol impairment from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 3 a.m. Wednesday.
