BEANZ COFFEE SHOP TO HOST GRAND OPENING FEB. 2

Recently opened Beanz Coffee Shop, 4830 Blue Diamond Road, Suite 130, plans to host a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 2.

Patrons who wear a tutu will receive a free small drip coffee or a children's hot chocolate (one per family). The Vegas Vanguard Entertainment Drumline is scheduled to perform from 11 a.m. to noon.

The Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to offer a $35 wristband good for unlimited food and drinks as part of its Super Bowl party Feb. 3 at Veil Pavilion.

Ethel M Chocolates has launched its 2013 Valentine's Collection, with the gourmet chocolates available at ethelm.com and in stores.

Chocolates come wrapped in heart-shaped packaging, with options of 13 pieces for $25, 19 pieces for $36 or 47 pieces for $55. TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFÉ DEBUTS FISH AND CHICKEN TACOS

Tropical Smoothie Café has added fish and chicken tacos to its menu. A new Passion Fruit smoothie also is available.

The fish and chicken tacos feature a choice of grilled tilapia or grilled chicken, topped with Caribbean salsa made with mango, pineapple, jicama, red peppers, jalapeno and cilantro and tucked into toasted flour tortillas with a chili lime cilantro spread and fresh romaine lettuce.

VALENTINO LAS VEGAS PLANS HANDS-ON SOMMELIER FOR A DAY EXPERIENCE

Valentino Las Vegas at The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to offer a Sommelier for a Day experience, where guests will have a hands-on opportunity to hone their wine skills.

Gretchen Allen, wine director at Valentino and a certified sommelier, will guide each guest through a one-on-one training session exploring the history of wine and Valentino's wine list, with more than 2,400 selections. Guests also will learn aspects of wine service and wine and food pairing. A tasting of Valentino's most elite wines will be paired with James Beard Award-winning chef Luciano Pellegrini's cuisine.

RESTAURANT WEEKS TO BENEFIT THREE SQUARE IN 2013

Las Vegas Restaurant Weeks are planned for March 8-15 and Aug. 23-30 to benefit Three Square food bank.

In 2012, Las Vegas Restaurant Week raised more than $610,000 for Three Square, helping to provide more than 1.8 million meals to those in need in Southern Nevada.

To take part in Restaurant Week, diners simply visit a participating restaurant during the specified dates and enjoy a multi-course, prix fixe menu created especially for the fundraiser. Price points will range from $20.13 to $50.13, with a fixed portion of the proceeds going to the food bank.

MOTLEY BREWS TO PRESENT FESTIVAL OF BEER AT SUNSET PARK

Motley Brews plans to present the Third Annual Great Vegas Festival of Beer from 3 to 7 p.m. April 27 at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.

The event is set to feature live music, 200 craft brews and more than 50 breweries.

Early entry will be available at 2 p.m. for VIP ticket holders.

FLEMING'S PLANS SAVOR & SIP, PRIME RIB DINNERS IN JANUARY

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, 8721 W. Charleston Blvd., plans to offer Savor & Sip dinners nightly through Jan. 31.

The $49.95 dinner offers a choice of porcini-rubbed filet mignon topped with Gorgonzola sauce and flanked by asparagus spears or peppercorn steak, which is prime New York strip with cracked black and white peppercorns, served with Fleming's proprietary "F17" dipping sauce and sautéed French green beans. The steak is served with an oversized Big Pour of wine, with four wines to choose from.

Fleming's prime rib dinner is also available Sundays through Feb. 10 for $29.95. The three-course menu starts with The Wedge, Caesar or Fleming's salad, followed by prime rib with a trio of sauces, one of 10 side choices and dessert.

LES KINCAID PLANS FOOD AND WINE CLASSES

Les Kincaid, host of the radio wine show "Wines Du Jour," plans to host a Taste of Wines class at Total Wine & More in Boca Park, 730 S. Rampart Blvd., Wednesdays from Wednesday through Feb. 27 (no class on Feb. 13). Learn about sensory evaluation, types of wines and grapes, ordering wine and food/wine matching. The class Chicken Fundamentals is planned for Jan. 29 at the Ferguson Bath & Kitchen Gallery, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, No. 109. Learn proper techniques for whole chickens and chicken pieces, including how to cut up a chicken, as well as covered methods such as roasting, braising, pan-frying and grilling. The cost is $49.

Essential Knife Skills is planned for Feb. 5 in a room to be determined at the Paradise Campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 851 E. Tropicana Ave. Observe and practice proper knife handling and sharpening, learn how to slice, dice and chop and the art of cutting up a chicken. The cost is $39.

Chocolate & Wine Pairing is planned for Feb. 12 at Total Wine & More in Boca Park. Identify and match subtleties of taste, texture and intensity to draw out the best qualities in wine and chocolate. The cost is $69. Students must be 21 or older.

A Taste of Noodles is planned for Feb. 19 and 26 at Ferguson. Explore various types of Asian noodle dishes and create meals using Italian pastas. The cost is $98 for two sessions.
