VILLAGE OF HOPE TO HOST COCKTAIL FUNDRAISER FOR WHITNEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OCT. 4

The Food & Wine All-Star Weekend is scheduled to bring world-renowned chefs to the Strip Oct. 4-6.

The fourth annual culinary festival is to be hosted by Bellagio, Aria at CityCenter and the MGM Grand. A #VegasFoodie social media contest is going on through Sept. 19. Contestants must demonstrate their culinary passion by submitting testimonials as to why they are the ultimate foodie via their favorite social media platform with the hashtag #VegasFoodie. COSMOPOLITAN TO HOST LUCKYRICE CULINARY FESTIVAL IN OCTOBER

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host LUCKYRICE, a culinary festival focused on Asian cultures, from Oct. 4-6.

Festival highlights include an opening ceremony set for Oct. 4 at the Boulevard Pool and featuring an assortment of teas and entertainment, including Lion Dances, Koto and Pipa musical performances. The ceremony will be free to hotel guests and festival ticket holders.

A Vegas Night Market is set for Oct. 5 at the pool and will feature traditional Asian street food and modern variations. Specialty cocktails with Asian flare will also be featured. Tickets are $88.

COCKTAILS & CANVAS PLANNED FOR OCT. 5 TO BENEFIT NEW VISTA

Cocktails & Canvas, a live collaborative art event, is planned for 5 p.m. Oct. 5 at the JW Marriott, 221 N. Rampart Blvd. The event will benefit New Vista Community, a nonprofit that provides the intellectually challenged of all ages with opportunities and support.

Art is set to be created by 24 artists during the event, with all pieces being collaborative and worked on by multiple artists. Final pieces will be created on everything from canvases to a van and even tattooing. A menu featuring Garfield’s, Spiedini, The Carmel Room, J.C. Wooloughan’s Irish Pub, The Melting Pot and more will be paired with specially created cocktails and wines. Live music is also planned. MTO CAFE TO OPEN IN DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS

MTO Cafe is scheduled to open this month at 500 S. Main St. MTO, which stands for Made To Order, will serve breakfast and lunch daily and a brunch menu on weekends. It is the first restaurant from Las Vegas-based Shift Solutions.

The 65-seat restaurant will be across from Las Vegas City Hall on the ground floor of the city parking garage. It will feature cuisine by chef partner Johnny Church. The Life is Beautiful Festival has announced its lineup of culinary programming for the inaugural event set for Oct. 26-27 in downtown Las Vegas. More than 60 chefs and restaurants, 24 wineries and 24 breweries are expected to participate.
