Hospitals would band together to aid valley during disasters

A 2008 study by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services showed that about 96 percent of hospitals had response plans for chemical releases, natural disasters, epidemics and biological incidents. The Las Vegas Valley is well-prepared for such emergencies, according to area hospital officials.

Artist turned teacher makes school his canvas

However, Michael Cababe’s biggest exhibit is at Bracken Elementary School, 1200 N. 27th St. Cababe became the school’s art teacher four years ago and transformed the campus into a canvas that he and his students add to each semester.
