Dust advisory issued through Wednesday night

Strong winds expected through Wednesday afternoon and evening have put residents and operators of local construction sites on alert for high levels of dust, according to air quality officials.

The Clark County Department of Air Quality has asked construction sites in the Las Vegas Valley to take precautions to prevent blowing dust from reaching unhealthy levels.

Officials will continue to monitor conditions and post alerts on its website if unhealthy levels occur.

Children, the elderly and those with respiratory diseases such as bronchitis or asthma are advised to stay indoors.
