Early registration for Henderson Safekey and Teen Scene

Henderson's Parks and Recreation Department is offering early Safekey and Teen Scene registration for the 2012-2013 school year. The department hosts the before- and after-school enrichment programs at all public elementary and middle schools in Henderson.

Early registration will be available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 15 through Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 18, and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 22 through Aug. 24 at the following locations:

■ Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.

■ Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Parkway.

■ Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St.

■ Silver Springs Recreation Center, 1951 Silver Springs Parkway.

■ Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive.

The department also will accept early registration at the Cox Back To School Fair at the Galleria at Sunset mall, beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 25.

Early registration, which must be done in person, gives parents the opportunity to complete all the necessary paperwork for each child, and pay for their first week, before the start of the school year.

Safekey is offered for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, and Teen Scene is offered for children in grades six through eight. Both follow the Clark County School District's nine-month calendar. Call 267-4100 for details.
