Fire breaks out behind North Las Vegas recycling plant

A fire broke out behind a recycling plant Wednesday afternoon, the North Las Vegas Fire Department said.

Department Capt. Cedric Williams said firefighters were called around noon to the Secured Fibers plant at 4751 Vanderberg Drive, near Craig Road and Lamb Boulevard.

It took firefighters about 40 minutes to extinguish the flames. The blaze ignited at a lot behind the plant that had cardboard and other paper products, Williams said.

He did not know the cause of the fire or a damage estimate as of late Wednesday afternoon.
