Henderson motorcyclist dies after crash with pickup

A 21-year-old Henderson man died late Saturday night after crashing his motorcycle into a city-owned pickup earlier in the day, Henderson police said Sunday.

The identity of the man was not released.

Police said the man was driving a Suzuki GSXR 600 south on Whitney Ranch Drive about 3:50 a.m. Witnesses said he was traveling at a high rate of speed, police said.

The motorcycle collided with a Ford F-150 driven by Danielle Havis, 24, a Henderson city employee. Havis was making a left turn from Plain Sight Avenue onto northbound Whitney Ranch.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown into the pickup's windshield.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died about 11:50 p.m.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Ten people have died in traffic-related accidents this year in Henderson.
