Henderson pedestrian killed in Boulder Highway crosswalk

A 19-year-old Henderson woman died after she was struck by a motorist inside a marked crosswalk at Boulder Highway near Corn Street in Henderson.

The fatality occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.

Henderson police arrested Ricky J. Bonilla, 26, of Las Vegas, on a charge of driving with a revoked license, which was revoked for a previous conviction of driving while intoxicated.

According to police reports, Bonilla was driving a 1995 Toyota Avalon south on Boulder Highway when he hit the woman, who died at the scene.

Police said Bonilla voluntarily submitted to a blood test, but did not appear to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.

The preliminary investigation indicates speeding wasn't a factor in the crash.

The Clark County coroner's office will release the name of the woman after her family has been notified.

The fatality is the 13th involving an automobile accident in Henderson this year, police said.
