Judge approves measures to keep Mob Experience open

As expected, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Bruce Markham has approved several measures brought by Murder Inc. to keep its Mob Experience attraction open for the next few months.

The moves allow the Mob Experience, located in the Tropicana, to pay employees and honor customer deposits, plus accept a loan of as much as $375,000 from investor JVLV Holdings to subsidize the money-losing operation into early next year.

A deal to restructure the lease with the Tropicana, under which the Strip resort will accept substantial rent concessions to help the Mob Experience's financial viability, and sell the attraction to JVLV and others, was scheduled for hearing on Jan. 9, 2012.

"I appreciate this is an aggressive schedule, to say the least .. but it is one we think is doable," said Mob Experience attorney Gerald Gordon.
