Lane restrictions planned on Las Vegas Boulevard
The Nevada Department of Transportation will implement northbound and southbound lane restrictions on Las Vegas Boulevard for a drilling project on Wednesday and Thursday.
The project area stretches from Tonopah Avenue to Craig Road - or roughly from Jerry's Nugget to the entrance of Nellis Air Force Base. The Transportation Department will close sections of the right lanes and bus lanes in both directions, for 20 minutes to 30 minutes at a time, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
It will perform soil extractions, which will help determine the type of materials used in future repaving work on Las Vegas Boulevard. During the project, two lanes of traffic will be open in both directions.
