Las Vegas firefighters extinguish fire at Walgreens

Las Vegas firefighters battled a fire in the attic of a Walgreens in the western valley Wednesday morning.

Officials said the fire started in the rear storage room of the Walgreens at 9300 W. Sahara Ave., near Fort Apache Road. The store was evacuated as firefighters fought the blaze.

The fire was contained to the attic of the storage room. There were no injuries and no damage to any public areas of the store. Damage was estimated at $150,000.

The fire was reported about 8:20 a.m. and was extinguished by 8:45 a.m.
