Las Vegas police officer scheduled for court on prostitution charge
A 17-year veteran of the Metropolitan Police Department is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 14 for his arraignment in a prostitution case.
According to a police report, Peter Hervoyavich was arrested in September after picking up a prostitute near Paradise Road and Twain Avenue. Formal charges have not been filed.
Undercover detectives followed Hervoyavich, who was off duty, to a parking lot after watching him pick up a woman just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 13. Hervoyavich, 44, and the woman then began a sex act, the arrest report said.
Both parties were arrested and booked on a charge of engaging in prostitution. Hervoyavich, a patrol officer at the Northeast Area Command, was placed on paid leave.
