Las Vegas police seek public’s help in finding shooter in Thursday attack

Las Vegas police asked for the public’s help Friday in finding who’s behind a fatal shooting that happened the day before.

Police responded to a shooting call at 3:47 p.m. Thursday. Police said the man who died was walking in the 1700 block of Curran Way, near the intersection of H Street and Owens Avenue, talking with an unknown male when the attack happened. Detectives believe the suspect approached and fired several shots before running fleeing.

Officers found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was lying on the ground in front of a home. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified as of Friday evening. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

Police described the shooter only as a thin black man who stands 6 feet, 1 inch and has a shaved head and tattoos on his neck and upper chest.

The identity of the man who was shot as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
