Man dead after car wreck on Flamingo Road

A man is dead and a woman is in serious condition after a fatal single-car crash Friday night on East Flamingo Road .

A 65-year-old man was driving a 2007 Hyundai Elantra west on Flamingo Road when he mishandled a turn onto Perry Street, near Nellis Boulevard, according to Las Vegas police. The car struck a traffic signal.

The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His female passenger, Dee Cooper, 74, was in serious condition, according to police.

The Clark County coroner will identify the man and determine the cause of death. Las Vegas police say it's possible it was caused by a medical condition.
