Man dies from infection related to injuries from car crash, police said.
The man injured in a June crash on Las Vegas Boulevard died of an infection related to those injuries, police said.
William E. Dunham, 82-year-old Henderson resident, died June 29 from sepsis and pneumonia, with a blood clot in the lungs and blunt force injury, the Clark County coroner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.
About 10:20 a.m. June 22, a 1987 Toyota Corolla collided with a 1996 Lincoln Town Car near the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Las Vegas Boulevard South, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
In a statement, Metro said the Toyota was traveling on Las Vegas Boulevard and the Lincoln was trying to turn left onto Las Vegas Boulevard from a private drive. The Toyota struck the Lincoln, police said.
The Lincoln’s driver, Dunham, was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died, police said. The Toyota’s driver, 27-year-old Derek Dorazio, suffered minor injuries, Metro said.
Dunham’s death was the 72nd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2016, police said.
