Metro cop in unmarked car hospitalized after crash

A Las Vegas police officer was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening after a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened on Martin Luther King Boulevard near the U.S. Highway 95 interchange about 2:40 a.m.

The officer’s unmarked cruiser, a 2004 four-door Ford, was struck when the driver of a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer made an unsafe turn, Metro said.

The officer was taken to University Medical Center.

Information on whether or not a citation was issued was not immediately available.
