A motorcyclist who was killed Tuesday when he crashed into a metal barrier near an offramp on the Las Vegas Beltway was identified Wednesday.

Timothy Lunde, 34, of Las Vegas clipped a barrier separating the offramp from travel lanes about 8 p.m. as he traveled south on the Beltway approaching the Lake Mead Boulevard exit.

A 13-year-old boy riding with Lunde was hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Lunde, who was riding a Yamaha sport bike, died at the scene.
