The National Survey on Drug Use and Health found 24.5 percent of Nevada residents between the ages of 12 and 20 drank liquor in the previous month.

Vermont had the highest rate , according to the survey, with 37 percent of minors reporting they drank alcohol in the past month. Utah had the lowest rate, at 14.3 percent.
The report, released last week by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, averaged data from 2008 to 2010.
