Reno mayor’s father dies from fire injuries in Las Vegas
Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve’s father died Saturday in Las Vegas from injuries he suffered in a fire on Tuesday, according the city of Reno’s website.
“It is with great regret and sadness that we inform the public and media that Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve’s father, Don Schieve, passed away in Las Vegas today from injuries he sustained in a fire that occurred in Bullhead City, Arizona on April 28, 2015,” Reno City Manager Andrew Clinger wrote on the website Saturday night.
Schieve requested that the media respect her privacy and that donations be made to University Medical Center’s Lions Wound and Burn Care Center in her father’s name.
She thanked the staff at UMC for their care, the city’s website said.
“The Mayor greatly appreciates all of the support she has received from across Nevada and Bullhead City,” Clinger wrote.
