Second pedestrian dies after struck on Las Vegas Boulevard

A second pedestrian has died after two were struck by a car while crossing Las Vegas Boulevard north of East Robindale Road on Saturday night.

The 52-year-old man, who was not identified, died at University Medical Center.

The woman, also 52, died Saturday night at UMC. She also was not identified.

Both were from Mobile, Ala.

The pair were not in a marked crosswalk when a 2008 Honda Accord hit them about 9:15 p.m., according to Las Vegas police.

Evidence at the scene and driver statements indicated the car was traveling north on Las Vegas Boulevard when it struck the pedestrians crossing from west to east, police said.

They were the 55th and 56th traffic-related fatalities in Las Vegas for 2012.
