Storm expected to bring rain to valley, snow to mountain

A small storm is expected to bring showers and wind to the valley, and snow to the mountain, Wednesday evening but clear by Friday.

There is a 70 percent chance of rain in Las Vegas after 10 a.m. Thursday and continuing until early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

There is also a 60 percent chance of snow this evening at Mount Charleston. The storm will continue into Friday morning, possibly bringing one to five inches of new snow and temperatures between 23 and 41 degrees Thursday and Friday.

According to the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort, the total season snowfall is eight inches. The resort has made snow and will continue as conditions permit.

Temperatures in the valley Thursday and Friday are expected around 58 degrees for the high and 43 degrees for the low. Wind gusts could range from 18 to 31 mph.

There is a slight chance of snow, or rain, at Red Rock National Conservation Area, according to the National Weather Service.
