Tax help for those over age 50

AARP will offer residents 50 and older free assistance with personal income tax preparation and electronic filing at four adult and senior centers beginning in February.

Participants in the Internal Revenue Service Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will offer similar free assistance to residents, regardless of age, with an income under $49,000 at the Doolittle Senior Center starting Feb. 19.

Advance appointments are required at all locations. Bring a copy of your 2011 income tax return and all 2012 paperwork to the appointment.
