Three hurt in head-on crash on Kyle Canyon Road

Three people were taken to University Medical Center Monday night after a head-on crash between two vehicles on state Route 157 near Mount Charleston, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Trooper Jeremie Elliott said the crash occurred about 6:20 p.m. at mile-marker 9 on the road more commonly known as Kyle Canyon Road.

The road was closed both ways following the collision and was reopened about 8:30 p.m.

Elliott said one person was airlifted to UMC while two others were taken there by ground transportation. Their conditions were not known Monday night.

The autos that collided were a sport utility vehicle and a two-door Hyundai, Elliott said.
