Three Las Vegans hurt in mobile home fire

Three Las Vegas residents were hurt when a wind-fueled fire that started in a patio swept through a mobile home Saturday.

A neighbor who first noticed the 4:15 p.m. fire ran into the burning home to tell its occupants, then was injured when he crawled out of a window on his way back out, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire occurred in Space 154 at the West Valley Mobile Home Park, in the 6300 block of West Tropicana Avenue.

On arrival, firefighters found a double-wide mobile home with smoke coming from the side and rear of the structure. They quickly “knocked it down within five minutes,” according to a Fire Department statement.

The neighbor who suffered severe injuries was taken to the UMC Trauma Center, but the nature of his injuries was unknown.

One victim suffered severe injuries and the other minor injuries. Both also were transported to University Medical Center.

Red Cross was called to assist one family that was displaced by the fire.

Damage was estimated at $10,000.
