Three pedestrians were struck by vehicles in two separate incidents on valley streets Monday, Las Vegas police said.
Police spokesman Jacinto Rivera said the first collision occurred at 10:27 a.m. near Las Vegas Boulevard and Bellagio Drive, and the pedestrians were at fault.
Witnesses told police the two pedestrians, a mother and a daughter, were in a crosswalk but crossing against a traffic signal when they were struck by a car.
One of the pedestrians may have broken an arm, Rivera said. The second pedestrian was hospitalized with noncritical injuries. He said both pedestrians were cited in the crash.
Then, at 11:38 a.m., there was another car crash involving a pedestrian near Rancho Drive and Charleston Boulevard, Rivera said. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk when struck, witnesses said.
The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries. Rivera said the driver was cited in the crash for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Last week, there were three fatal collisions involving vehicles and pedestrians within the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
