USDA announces lasagna recall

A Las Vegas company is recalling thousands of pounds of lasagna products because of mislabeling, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Tuesday.
West Best Foods Inc.'s lasagna with meat sauce and deluxe beef lasagna are the products in question. The products contains soy, which is an allergen that is not declared on the label.
The lasagna with meat sauce and the deluxe beef lasagna were sold in 24-pound cases to hotels and one distributor in Las Vegas. The products bear the establishment number "EST. 6080" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced between April 13 and May 21. In total, the company is recalling 13,776 pounds of the products.
The problem was discovered during a routine food safety assessment and may have occurred as a result of a change in an ingredient formulation used in the products.
Consumers and reporters with questions about the recall should contact the company's Plant Manager, Gabriel Campisi, at 702-367-0662.
