Woman injured in fall while hiking
A woman suffered non-life threatening injuries after a fall at the Calico Basin Trail at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area Saturday morning, Las Vegas police said.
Authorities were called to the trail shortly after 11 a.m. The woman had fallen three to five feet from a rock and then rolled about 20 feet, Metro Lt. James Mizusaki said.
The woman suffered a broken ankle and a back injury. She was taken to University Medical Center, Mizusaki said.
