Worker who died at mining site identified
The man who died at a mining operation near Interstate 15 and Apex on Monday has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office as 54-year-old Kenneth Kurakis of North Las Vegas.
Kurakis died at the Lhoist North America quarry in the northeast part of the valley. North Las Vegas Fire Department Capt. Cedric Williams said firefighters were called to the site about 11:30 a.m.
The cause and manner of death has not yet been determined by the coroner's office.
