Evans commits to Utah State, where he feels at home

Centennial senior quarterback Jamaal Evans has been traveling to Logan, Utah long before he started playing football. His father, Leon, routinely took high school teams he’s coached to Utah State’s football camp. Naturally, the younger Evans tagged along until he was in high school, and could participate.

Bishop Gorman’s Malik Hausman commits to Arizona

Bishop Gorman cornerback Malik Hausman became the third local football player in the class of 2017 to orally commit to play for the Arizona Wildcats, joining Desert Pines teammates Tony Fields and Edgar Burrola.

He has 19 scholarship offers — Northwestern was the most recent on April 30 — and his family has racked up plenty of hotel points over the past month and a half making unofficial visits on the weekends.
