I-A SWIMMING: Boulder City boys, girls earn titles

Boulder City’s boys made it somewhat interesting by scoring 110 points to defeat second-place Sierra Vista by 25 points. But the girls dominated throughout, scoring 156 points to easily get past second-place Truckee, which finished with 111 points. It was the sixth consecutive championship for the Eagles’ boys and the fourth straight for the girls.

I-A SOFTBALL: Spring Valley nips Sierra Vista

Marlena Adras singled home Madison Hood with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fourth, and Spring Valley held on to edge visiting Sierra Vista 3-2 on Wednesday in the Division I-A Southern Region softball tournament.

Braxton Wehrle’s two-out single to center field in the bottom of the eighth inning plated Bryce Ruggeroli with the winning run as Bishop Gorman’s baseball team rallied in both the seventh and eighth innings to edge visiting Shadow Ridge 7-6 on Tuesday.
