1 hospitalized, 7 displaced by northeast valley fire

A fire Wednesday evening at a northeast valley mobile home sent one person to the hospital for smoke inhalation and displaced seven people, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

County and North Las Vegas firefighters were called about 5 p.m. Wednesday to the Carefree Country Mobile Home Park, at 3325 N. Nellis Blvd., between Gowan Road and Las Vegas Boulevard North, where a double-wide mobile home was burning, the county said in a release.

The 25 firefighters who responded were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, the release said.

One neighbor was taken to a hospital with symptoms of smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and five children who were displaced by the fire.

Clark County fire investigators are investigating the cause and origin of the fire, the release said. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
