28th annual parade starts at 10 a.m. Monday

The dream of racial equality that Martin Luther King Jr. described in his famous 1963 sermon from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial will live on Monday when the 28th annual parade is held in his honor in downtown Las Vegas.

This year's grand marshals for "Living the Dream: Saluting Community Leaders," will be Anthony Gladney, vice president, national diversity relations for Harrah's Entertainment Inc., and Judge Karen Bennett-Haron, former general counsel for the Las Vegas Housing Authority.

The parade will start 10 a.m. Monday at Fourth Street and Hoover Avenue, then head north on Fourth to Ogden Avenue.

Last year's parade drew about 30,000 spectators, organizers said.
