4.3 largest of series of quakes on Nevada-California line

BEATTY -- A series of minor earthquakes shook an isolated area along the Nevada-California line about 220 miles northwest of Las Vegas early Thursday, the largest a magnitude 4.3.
The Nye County Sheriff's office in Beatty says it has had no reports of damage. At least five quakes were recorded between about 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. about 40 miles west of Beatty and Goldfield.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the 4.3 temblor struck at 1:37 a.m.
