5 cheap shows in Vegas this weekend
GASS STATIONKyle Gass — the balding portly gent better known as one half of Tenacious D — is bringing his righteous rock band and ridiculous tunes to Backstage Bar & Billiards on Friday. Tickets are $12-$14, and the show is at 8 p.m.
GRIMM PICKINGSMichael Grimm, whose residency at Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel was cut short a few weeks ago, is due back at the venue for a series of shows, starting this weekend, with scattered dates throughout August. There's no cover for the shows, which kick off at 8 p.m. this weekend.
COUNT'S TO 6If Count's is rocking this weekend, don't bother knocking ... or do, actually. Stop by Friday or Saturday to offer congrats to Count's Vamp'd, which is celebrating its six-year anniversary with free shows from Blandini, featuring members of Slaughter, Evanescence and the Vince Neil Band.
PARTY LIKE IT'S 1990sHave a soft spot for '90s punk? Make your way Saturday to Backstage Bar & Billiards, where a half-dozen local acts (Hard Pipe Hitters, War Called Home, Rad Beligion, Cherry 2000, Damn You's and Radio Silence) are set to memorialize the music made in the last decade of the millennium. The cover is $5, and the show starts at 8 p.m.
SELLER'S CHOICEThere's two things you can depend on this town, that Double Down never closes and that you’re always going to be treated to a great show for free. Saturday's show featuring Authentic Sellout, the Nots, Cause of Death and Neck Breaker is no exception. The show starts at 10 p.m.
