Angry Rock turns scorn on Anderson

This time, Kid Rock was directing his slaps at Pamela Anderson.

Less than a month after his altercation at the Palms with Anderson's ex, Tommy Lee, Rock slammed the former "Baywatch" star in an interview with Rolling Stone.

He suggested Anderson fabricated her claim of having a miscarriage in November, about 31/2 months after they were married.

"She's in Vancouver shooting a movie, and I have Lakers seats on the floor, and I'm gonna go to the Lakers game with my friend Jesse James," Rock told Rolling Stone in its latest issue.

"I'm like, 'Baby, I got these tickets. I'll see you on the weekend there,' and that leads into her saying, 'You don't care about me, blah, blah, blah,' " he continued. "She finally comes up with this: 'I just had a miscarriage' ... and hangs the phone up."

Rock said that he had no idea Anderson was pregnant and that he immediately chartered a plane to Vancouver, British Columbia, to join her.

But when he arrived, "she's partying at this restaurant, drinking champagne, jumping on the tables. I'm thinking, that's a quick recovery from a miscarriage," he recalled.

A few days later, Anderson issued a statement saying she had lost the pregnancy and requesting that "everyone respect her privacy during this difficult time."

Rock filed for divorce a short time later.

Anderson, who performs at Planet Hollywood Resort as illusionist Hans Klok's assistant in "The Beauty of Magic," was granted a marriage license in Las Vegas on Saturday to marry Rick Salomon.

Rock, in his first comments about the fracas with Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards, said he slapped the Motley Crue drummer upon returning from the men's room and finding him at Rock's table.

"I was like, 'that's it!' He knows how much he has disrespected me through the years, and I'd told him he had it coming."

He added, "If I knew how much press this was gonna get, I would've come back with a left."

CATHY RAY LEAVING 13

Cathy Ray, a multiple Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter at KTNV-TV, Channel 13, announced Wednesday that she is leaving the station for medical reasons.

Ray, who has been at the ABC affiliate since 1994, has been on extended medical leave because of her battle with Crohn's disease. She made her departure official during an emotional sign-off on the 6 p.m. newscast with evening anchors Steve Wolford and Tricia Kean.

She dabbed away tears when Wolford surprised her with a going-away gift from Mayor Oscar Goodman: a "Cathy Ray Day" proclamation.

She started her career in broadcast journalism at WNDU in South Bend, Ind., after gaining a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's in oncology. She also worked in Providence, R.I., and Boston before moving to Las Vegas.
