Ann Romney campaigned in Southern Nevada on Monday Oct. 1, 2012, starting with a stop at C.T. Sewell Elementary School in Henderson to read to Kindergartners and then to speak at a rally at Henderson Convention Center. President Barack Obama is also staying in Southern Nevada through Wednesday while preparing for the upcoming debate with Mitt Romney, underscoring the importance of Nevada's swing vote in the upcoming election.

The Metropolitan Police Department has formally re-entered into an agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement that allows its jail to hold certain undocumented immigrants for an extended period of time to allow agents time to pick them up.
