Ann Romney to speak Monday in Las Vegas
September 28, 2012 - 6:05 pm
Ann Romney will speak Monday afternoon at a rally at the Henderson Convention Center, dropping into the same city where President Barack Obama will be preparing to debate her husband.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. for her 3 p.m. speech, an official close to the campaign said.
The wife of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney campaigned in Reno on Thursday. Her son Craig also made stops in Reno and Las Vegas on Friday. A Spanish speaker, Craig Romney helped open a new campaign office in a Hispanic neighborhood in Las Vegas to help his father compete with Obama for the Latino vote.
The Obamas are also spending a lot of time in the finals weeks of the presidential campaign in Nevada, as the state remains one of a dozen that will decide who wins the Nov. 6 election.
The president will hold a rally Sunday at Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas and then stay several days at the Westin at Lake Las Vegas to practice for his first debate with Romney in Denver on Wednesday.
